Dave's mom and sister flew in this past week to come play with us here. This past weekend we went to Philadelphia for the first time.

Here is a family picture in front of the Liberty Bell. There was quite a few people trying to get up by the Bell to take a picture, but when we went up with our large family, it was like the parting of the seas.:) And we had a great photographer, Dave's sister Kim, who just kept backing up so she could get us all in the picture. It was kind of funny because it stopped everyone in their tracks because we took up all the space!:)

Carpenter's Hall, where delegates to the First Continental Congress met.

Outside Carpenter's Hall

We went into a home Benjamin Franklin rented out, if I remember correctly. They had some old artifacts from that period around to look at, but what caught all of our attention was this cockroach! EWWWWW!

We have put the kids through alot of walking this summer! When Scott started getting tired Dave gave him a little ride.:)

As you can see from her red cheeks, we were getting pretty hot walking around.

Independence Hall; at the top is where the Liberty Bell used to be.

My baby, who I know is no longer a baby, but a little boy. But he is still my baby.:)

Dave, his mom Vinnie, sister Kim, and kids with Independence Hall and Philadelphia behind them.

Madeline soaking her feet after walking all day.:)

The next day we went to Betsy Ross' house. Here is Madeline with "Betsy Ross".

Scott with one of the storytellers at Betsy Ross' house.

Before going home we also went to Elfreth's Alley, which is supposed to be the oldest continually inhabited street in the US. Some homes there date back to 1702. This is where we would all love to live if you were in Philadelphia. It was quite charming.
Driving out of town we were going to try eating at Pat's or Geno's for cheesesteak sandwiches but the lines were way too long. And considering none of us are that into chessesteak sandwiches, we decided not to wait. Oh well. It was fun seeing a bit of Colonial America!
