Cape Cod and Mystic Seaport

So, here are the remaining pictures of our 4th of July weekend. After leaving Boston, we headed to Cape Cod. We traveled to the tip of the Cape, Provincetown. It was quite an interesting experience, let me tell you.

This is where we had some delicious seafood for lunch/ dinner. I had fish and chips and actually tried clam chowder for the first time. It was pretty good.

Grandma, Madeline and Dylan. The Pilgrim Monument is in the background. I can't remember what it's significance is at the moment, but it is by far the tallest thing on Cape Cod.

Scott finally found a souvenir that was more to his liking at Cape Cod. They had a pirate store with pirate things for little boys. He was very excited!

It was beautiful at Cape Cod. I LOVE the beach at sunset.

We went to a lighthouse on our way out of town, and it ended up being a perfect time of day, dusk. It was so picturesque is was almost unreal.

The next day we stopped at Mystic Seaport in CT on our way home. Mystic Seaport is a little place that has been set up to look like an old fishing or whaling town. Here is a picture of the Charles W. Morgan, a whaling ship being restored. It was huge!

They had some activites, like this theater show, to introduce kids to life on a whaling ship. Madeline got to play this girl's mother.

Scott got to play a deck hand. The kids loved this part of it!

This picture makes me laugh. Here is Madeline playing on a boat with all boys. They probably wondered why she was playing with them, but she didn't even bat an eye! She is so used to playing with Scott's friends in Ithaca, and she is sometimes the only girl there. She doesn't seem to mind.

Can I just say, I LOVE this house! Doesn't it look like a dream place to live?

We had tons of fun with my parents here, and tried to cram as much into the couple of weeks as possible. It is so much fun being here this summer and seeing all these new places! This weekend we are heading back to Ithaca for the weekend to go see the Hill Cumorah Pagent, and then Dave's mom and sister come next week. Time is flying by this summer. Dave only has three more weeks of his internship and then, in about a month, we will leave CT for good and head back to Ithaca. It feels like summer just barely started!
